Maximum durability and minimal maintenance
Galvanization
Why is galvanization good for durability?
Galvanization is one of the most effective ways to protect steel against rust and deterioration. When a trailer or feeding Table is galvanized, the entire steel structure is coated with a layer of zinc, protecting the metal from moisture, oxygen, and other environmental influences.
The main advantage is that the zinc layer acts as a barrier against rust. At the same time, the zinc provides – what is known as cathodic protection, meaning that even if the surface gets small scratches or damage, the zinc will still protect the steel from corrosion. This is a major benefit in agriculture, where trailers are often exposed to mud, manure, moisture, and changing weather conditions.
A galvanized trailer or feeding table therefore has a significantly longer lifespan than a painted trailer. While paint can peel off or wear away over time, galvanization is chemically bonded to the steel and can last for many years without the need for maintenance.
At JYFA, quality is our top priority—therefore, all our trailers and feeding tables are fully galvanized.
Unlike many of our competitors, our products are not only galvanized on the outside but also on the inside.
The result is a trailer/animal feeder that:
- lasts longer
- requires minimal maintenance
- is better protected against rust
- retains its strength and functionality for many years
In short, galvanization ensures your trailer or feeding table can withstand daily use in harsh environments and continue to perform reliably year after year—making it a safe and cost-effective long-term investment.

The galvanization process
Galvanizing is a process in which the item to be galvanized is cleaned of grease, oil, mill scale, rust, and other impurities. The galvanizing process is carried out by immersing the item in one of Northern Europe’s largest baths of 450°C molten zinc, where a strong chemical bond forms between the steel and the zinc.
The treatment creates cathodic protection for areas not fully covered by zinc, resulting in an exceptionally durable and resistant surface. After the item has been galvanized, precise quality inspections are carried out to ensure the result meets all requirements.
Galvanizing is the most effective form of corrosion protection and is widely used for agricultural machinery and stable equipment.
DOT’s galvanizing process and zinc coating thickness comply with the quality requirements of DS/EN ISO 1461.
